Sending The New Site Live
Goodbye old site. You were cool and I had a good time making you... but it was obvious you were not going to be able to cut it with some of the things I have planned in the near future.
What's cool about the new site?
- RSS Feeds
The new site has RSS feeds for those of you that use them. I've got a feed of both my blog and photo galleries, so when new photos are uploaded or blog entries are posted, you'll know ASAP. If you don't use RSS feeds, please skip this part. Silly RSS feeds... - Searchable Photo Archive
The new site includes a fully searchable photo archive. This means anyone can search through any of my past and future photos and the site will return a search result of the relevant images to you. Yes, this is going to take me a long time to go through all of my old images, assign keywords and IPTC data for every image, but when its done you can look through for photos of "Point Reyes, CA" or "Sunsets" and see everything I've got. - eCommerce
"So THAT'S why all the other search and feed stuff is cool," you say. You'll be able to buy any photo I have up on my site in a variety of formats. Currently I am only offering prints of photos and other items like mousepads, postcards, etc. Once I get a little more time, I will also put together pricing for rights managed, royalty free and personal use image downloads so images can also be used for other purposes. I'll also put some other items together a little later on that should be pretty cool, too... but those are low on the priority list.
Those are the big things and I'm sure I am forgetting a few, but I'll keep updates going often and I have a few other cool site features and modules I will be adding in the next weeks and months, too.
That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by. There's still a lot to clean up, but I'm officially moved in.
